Make Smart Choices this Cinco de Mayo
Author: Raquel Smith
Date: May 1, 2023
If you plan on celebrating the anniversary of Mexico’s victory against France way back in 1862 (aka Cinco de Mayo) make sure to plan ahead! Let’s face it, most of us love tucking into a good Mexican meal accompanied by margaritas. Cinco de Mayo gives us the perfect excuse to do just that with friends. Our team wants to ensure that we all enjoy this celebration safely and make smart decisions – so, keep reading to make sure that you plan wisely.
First, remember, the police will be out in higher numbers on Cinco de Mayo – your chances of getting pulled over after having “a little too much” are high. If you plan on drinking, make sure your group has a designated driver. If this isn’t an option, call your mom or dad – kidding! Just be sure to make sure you have a rideshare app at your disposal. This year, LYFT is providing FREE RIDES (up to $15), from 4pm on May 5th up until 4am on Saturday, May 6th. Check out https://wrap.org/soberride/ for more details – the site will release the discount code at 3pm on Cinco de Mayo. Make sure the code is entered before you get to your destination!!
It’s never a good look to overindulge and embarrass your friends, not to mention yourself, be sure to eat, drink water and know your limit. We love our clients, but we don’t want to see you on May 6th because of a DUI arrest. We hope that you’ve found some helpful tips and resources to help you make smart choices this Friday. And, if for some reason, you got to this article after a DUI arrest, call us at 301-251-9001, a member of our legal team will get you an appointment with one of our attorneys ASAP and remember, our consultations are free.
